KBL Environmental's salary change approval process relied on a combination of paper forms and unstructured email chains. The manual nature of the workflow created significant operational friction: approvals were delayed due to unclear routing and ownership, there was no centralized record of approval history, and coordinating multi-level approvals across multiple approvers was difficult to manage consistently. A governed, end-to-end digital approval workflow

Silver Creek designed and delivered a fully digital, multi-stage salary change approval workflow built on Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint. The solution replaced the existing manual process entirely, introducing structured routing, automated notifications, and complete auditability.

Workflow Automation

Designed and implemented a multi-stage digital approval workflow with configurable routing based on organizational hierarchy, supporting both parallel and sequential approval paths as required by business rules. Integration with Microsoft Entra ID ensured approver assignments were resolved dynamically from live HR data.

Notifications and Document Generation

Automated email notifications and expiry reminders were configured at each approval stage to prevent workflows from stalling. Upon completion, the system automatically generated formatted PDF confirmation documents to provide a formal, consistent record of each approval decision.

Governance and Audit Trail

A centralized audit trail was implemented to capture all approval actions, timestamps, approver identities, and outcomes. This gave KBL Environmental's HR team full visibility into the process and the documentation required for internal governance and compliance reporting.
